TRAVEL SPOT #3: Taman Indonesia Kaya

Updated: Oct 6, 2019

September 7, 2019: It was past midnight and we are not yet ready to hit the sack. After going to Pecinan and Yisan Coffee Shop, we asked Nani where we can buy some herbal tea. She knew a place and I guess it would definitely taste good. So, we got up, fetched a cab and went there directly. But we were too late. The tea shop ran out of fresh herbal tea and the ones available were the small packets that we can brew at home. We still bought one though.

At that time, I thought the night was over and Miss Nani would ask us to go home since it’s running late. But before getting to the tea shop, we passed by a huge park/garden which was very near to the shop and asked her if we could go there and take a peek. Miss Nani allowed us and the three of us went there and saw the wonderful park. It almost feels romantic when I saw the light bulbs dangling and hanging by the trees. It is utterly beautiful.

We walked a few meters more and saw a big stage. Miss Nani told us that’s where most cultural singers and dancers perform. Another interesting fact about Taman Indonesia Kaya is that it is newly named because it has a different name before.

After walking a few miles, we all felt tired and sleepy so we decided to go home. From this trip, all I can say is that it is simply beautiful and huge. The romantic lighting, the culturally modernized pavements, the cold breeze, and the late-night walks are worth-experiencing. Terima Kasih Miss Nani! I can’t say thank you enough.
